thank the stars for rednecks. no really. i found a camping supply store and they have EVERYTHING for outdoor supplies. ok i take that back; a lot of lovely people who aren't rednecks enjoy camping and the outdoors and i'm no exception. i was sick of making small 10L batches as they get drunk in 5 seconds time; so i thought it was high time to boost the production line along some.
i'm now the proud owner of a 38L kettle and a gas burner and gas bottle to juice up my brews to 'full size' 20-23 litre batches. i'll be getting the pot kitted out with a tap and spigot so i don't scorch myself with boiling water and then she'll be ready to roll! very pumped about it!
apart from that, i recently went on a lovely trip to the u.s with my beautiful darling wife and sampled close to 30 beers (in 2 weeks). i now have a MASSIVE appetite for zesty american IPAs and also an even BIGGER beer belly bump to show for it...exercise time for me now! brought home some great souvenir growlers from two of san francisco's finest breweries; lagunitas and russian river. the latter being where i think i've tasted the best beer of my entire life - they named it 'pliny the elder'.
to celebrate our returning from the states, the fat polar IPA is now being pitched and will be ready in about 4ish weeks, and the foveaux street IPA and angry princess blonde are tasting SEXY right now also. even the mini minor has a few bottles left and is coming along a lot nicer than i first tasted so all in all, super happy with everything!
