i've decided that i'd like to try a few recipes, but rather than wait the normal 3-4 week+ turnaround time, i'll be trying to make some smaller 3L experimental batches. i'll be making some recipes mainly just to taste specific hops and what flavour they bring to a beer with the aim of using this taste knowledge for future, large batches. i'll also be testing the performance and taste of the coopers yeast, cultured up directly from 3 bottles of coopers pale ale! getting all science sexyfuntime and shit. i won't be naming these beers though, unless they're so amazing they blow me away. they'll just be SEXPERIMENT 1 and SEXPERIMENT 2, and other pathetic, albeit curiously arousing, names like that.
i'll be getting my hands on some large 3L plastic juice bottles for fermenting in, and then cutting loose using household pots and pans to brew! should be lots of fun. technically they won't be brew-in-a-bag beers (i'll be using a dry malt extract and a few steeped grains to keep it cheap and nasty) but they should hopefully taste remotely similar to my beers now.
should be lots of fun. stay tuned for pics and stuff.
