the princess blonde is BACK!
i was initially pretty unimpressed with how i'd made the first princess blonde so she's back, and with determination. the name has changed to reflect this as can be seen in the picture.
the recipe has changed; including a different yeast (my first use of a liquid yeast), and a better malt profile which will see it being a beautiful blonde colour - but with a bit of head and grunt; just what the angry princess needs. i also have a much better profile of my set up and my process so fingers crossed this one turns out better. i could have used the same old boring yeast i normally use, but i'd like to start branching out and trying different ones.
p.s. no it doesn't relate to jenna being angry! haha
this will probably be a trend from now on, unless i get a burst of energy to try other kinds of beer. i'd ideally like to perfect the ones i've made that i'm happy enough with, and have them spot on with how i envisaged them to taste like; before moving on to other ones. i've even thought of seeing if i can offer them as freebies to various surry hills pubs to get the name out to the public. i'm positive it will never happen due to liquor laws and licensing and what not, but as an off-the-cuff idea, who knows? if anyone has any idea on legalities of that, please feel free to post and let me know.
in other news, the ground control pale ale tastes amazing and is now carbonating up. will be ready for a taste in 2 weeks. i've also pitched the mini minor (my first english special bitter) just minutes ago and it's looking like a nice drop itself. the crescent moon cider isn't as nice as it used to be, because it fermented too much and lost its sweetness and mellow tastes it had when it was just out of the fermenter. in a few brews time though, closer to summer, i'll be trying version 2!
lots coming up. very excited.
sexyfuntime,
fletcher.
