after making a fair few beers, i'd like to start revisiting some older ones and tweaking them a bit to try and improve on them slightly. be it with the ingredients i use or the temperatures i mash and ferment at, whatever.
first on the list is my first proper all grain batch; the fletcher pale ale. version 2.0 is going to be big. the first version only used a very simple grain bill, and this version is more like a summer seasonal variation as it combines some lovely fruity and piney hops (centennial, cascade and galaxy). i've gotten rid of the amarillo in it as I've not had as much experience as yet with it and I've also increased the grain to make it a little more well-rounded; how I like a nice pale ale. i'll compare the notes and tastes and see how it fares going forward and decide which I like better.
i'll be very excited to have a few friends give this a test out. looking to beat the taste of the angry princess blonde, as she's been the top of the crop so far with the sexyfuntime range! i'll be re-brewing that also with a few minor tweaks soon and have it as a nice refreshing lighter drop to have over these next few hotter months. another one i'm excited about is the clambake blonde. a beer i'll be making with additions of rice to smooth it out. very excited there. will be my first foray into using adjuncts in a beer.
stay tuned!
