wow wow wow wow! i just had a proper taste of the fletcher pale ale...only a month after bottling and boom! such a big cascade kick. very happy with how it's turned out so far. the amarillo provides a subtle bitterness to the hop additions but it's cascade all the way in this one, and i'm very happy with the taste and mouth feel. it's a bodied beer but very clear and light on the palate. yay for sexyfuntime brewing! we're off to a great start!
very excited with the final product. the apocalypse ale is also coming along nicely, a lot maltier than what was initially expected; potentially due to the amarillo being a lot less in aa% than what it said. it will definitely get better with more ageing.
a few people have tasted my beers so far, but only a select few as to get a nice mix of critique. a few mates (while blind so it didn't really count) and also my mum (what a champion) who enjoyed it a lot! it surprised her. i think i'll wait and showcase my next few beers but i very well may put on another fletcher pale ale (slightly less hops this time) and see how she goes with an audience of a more commercial-beer palate (aka, my mates).
so excited for my first two all-grain brews. here's to many more! cheers and beers.
