today i brewed a beer named after our champion puppy baxter. the style is a mix of german/vienna ale and malts but with some american and australian hops mixed in for good measure. it was my first time using galaxy so i'm keen to see how that tastes - check it out on the current brews page.
a lot has been happening with sexyfuntime brewing, which basically means i've been making more brews and getting my system down pat. it's very exciting. today with help from martin, i have written down all my figures which is going to help me calibrate my system a lot more. this will mean that i'll be able to replicate brews a LOT better than previously because i'll be able to predict my loss and target numbers. with all this information, i'll then get back into making the princess blonde recipe as i wanted it initially!
as well as this, jean genie IPA got bottle this evening. so fucken pumped to get a proper taste once carbed. it's been chilling for 5 days now to let the yeast settle and i ended up getting 26 long necks full of it! can't wait. the princess blonde is now carbed and refrigerated and taste-wise she's ok, but there's a staleness coming from it, that i think had to do with my brew day being so messed up. can't wait to re-brew that one, but the ones i have now i'm going to age a bit and see how they fare later.
cheers!
